Q: Tell us about yourself and your family.
Married? Children? How many?
Married to my best friend Duane, we have two beautiful
children; Delaney (3) and Ashton (10 months).
Q: If you have children, what is your favorite part
about being a mom?
I absolutely love when my daughter tells me she loves me.
It melts my heart. With Ashton, I love seeing him
interacting with his sister. He looks at her with such
admiration already!
Q: Cat or dog person? Why? Both, we have
three cats and one dog. I was a vet tech in a former
life!
Q: Favorite color? Least
favorite? Any particular reason?
My favorite color is indigo blue, my least
is army green. I'm not sure why, I
just think it is ugly.
Q: What type of music do you prefer?
Jazz, I love it!
Q: Last book that you read - or tried to read?
The last book I read was Peace Like a River. It
took me forever after all of the stopping and starting!
Q: What do you prefer to do in your spare time?
Hobbies/Interests?
I love to garden, sew, hike, ski, and just hang out with our
family.
Q: Funniest WAHM moment.
Talking to a customer on the phone while my
baby is throwing up all over me. NOT
SPIT UP ... PUKING!
Q: What was the inspiration behind your business?
I've always wanted to own my own business, after having two
children I realized I wasn't getting any younger. If I
wanted it, I'd better get on the stick!
Q: How long have you been in business? Is your
business all online or do you have any local business?
We've been in business only 8 months. We are super busy
and the local business is really starting to pick up. We
hope to have a brick and mortar store open within a year.
Q: How did you go about starting your business?
What was the VERY FIRST thing you did?
Researched on the web.
Q: What did others think when you started your business?
Were they supportive?
I think my extended family and friends might have been a bit
skeptical at first. Although, now that they see how busy
we are they are certainly impressed and supportive.
Q: Do you have a business plan or flying by the seat
of your pants?
Actually, a little of both. I am constantly thinking of
my next step. I sometimes get a little ahead of myself.
Q: What is your daily routine?
Up by 5:00, nurse the baby, get daughter dressed, drink my
first cup of coffee, feed everyone breakfast, get baby down
for morning nap, check email, get myself dressed, hit the post
office and bank, run errands, lunch, nurse baby, afternoon
naps, package orders, check and respond to emails, DH comes
home, dinner, bath time, story time, nurse baby, more emails,
site updates, package any remaining orders, bed by 11 pm.
Q: What have you found to be the toughest part of the
job of WAHM?
Finding the balance between work and family. It is so
hard because my work is in my home. I can't leave it and
go home at 5 pm. I find myself working way more hours
than I ever did at my full time job!
Q: What do you feel is your greatest
strength and the greatest asset that you
bring to your business? Determination
and creativeness
Q: How would others
describe you?
Strong willed. My
husband says I always get
my way! LOL
Q:
On the
other
hand,
what do
you feel
is your
greatest
weakness
- how
have you
dealt
with
that in
your
business?
My
greatest
weakness
is not
being
able to
say no.
I have
found in
my
business
that I
sometimes
have to.
There
are days
when I
just
can't do
everything
and then
I have
to say
NO!!
Q: How would you describe yourself? Hard
working, loving, funny and sometimes bullheaded.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
I get to be a mommy and have a career.
Q: What is your favorite other WAHM/WAHM sites?
I love Kiwi Pie and Wonderoos!
Q: What is your definition of a WAHM?
A mommy that found a way to stay home and have a career.
Q: What is most important to you in a
Cloth Diaper Resource site?
It has to be easy to navigate.
